Committed to the fight against discrimination and convinced that art and culture can bring a better knowledge of oneself and others for the fulfilment of each person, Margalit Berriet, after a period of research and experimentation, founded the association Mémoire de l'Avenir in 2003.
Mémoire de l'Avenir today brings together many artists using art as a means of expression to address themes related to identity, memory and origins. Its aim is to facilitate self-knowledge, the expression of imagination, to transmit a message of openness and acceptance of differences in order to be enriched by the diversity of cultures.
Mémoire de l'Avenir organizes contemporary art events within its space as well as satellite programming. The artistic and curatorial methods employed seek to offer a sensitive and intuitive approach to the works.
Mémoire de l'Avenir also creates and develops with artists, multidisciplinary workshops and interactive cultural mediations based on an original methodology developed by Margalit Berriet. It is based on the respectful inclusion of all cultures and identities and proposes an intuitive approach to creativity, focusing on the notion of sensibility as the foundation of cognitive learning.
Through our cultural mediation program specifically designed for a public far removed from culture, works of art as well as museums are used as tools and spaces for dialogue, debate and critical questioning around contemporary issues.
